REACH – AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

ANIMATION HELPS EMPOWER – ONE STEP AT A TIME

 

REACH is a support service that assists job seekers managing a health issue or disability to re-enter the workforce.

 

We were approached by online learning solutions provider Catstone to create a video in collaboration with creative agency Black Sheep to help people to understand how REACH could help them. The video was part of a larger brand awareness campaign for the REACH programme across New Zealand.

 

The narrative in the video explores a range of sensitive issues and topics, featuring a variety of characters to ensure the experience is relatable to a diverse range of individuals. The challenge was to strike a subtle chord with the viewer’s emotions without elevating the idea of depression.

 

We created familiarity by creating scenarios where a character’s problems are solved in unique and engaging ways, allowing the viewer to draw parallels between their personal situations and those reflected in the story. This allowed the creative team to use a highly illustrative approach to convey complex thoughts and ideas. The animation was accompanied by a catchy acoustic audio bed.

 

The animation has won numerous awards including a Silver Pin at the Best Design Awards.

 

The scope of the project across the collaboration also included a new identity, website and supporting collateral.
