Daron Parton was among six artists who created artwork to raise money for Auckland City Mission. Organised by NZ Herald’s Canvas Magazine, artists were given a theme of ‘summer foods and a taste of kindness’ to focus their work around.
Daron drew on the idea of representing familiar ingredients with the kindness theme portrayed through the packaging.
The flour and butter have been re-labeled ‘love’ and ’empathy’. The four simple items, which include the mixing bowl and spoon, offer a thoughtful commentary on what we need as essential goods — especially in today’s turbulent times.
