“I’m scared about coronavirus. How do I handle my anxiety?”
“How long should I wait to tell my boyfriend I love him?”
These are just two of the curly questions answered in online magazine Metro’s regular ‘Ask Metro’ section.
Loryn Engelsman was sent a list of seven broad themes, and tasked with creating a series of engaging but simplified illustrations to visually represent each question. All images needed to be flexible enough to work for any question asked under a particular theme, which included existential dread, relationships, friendships, family, sex and money.
Many of the characters had to be gender-neutral, to align with the magazine’s inclusive philosophy, and all images needed feature the brand colours of yellow and black.
The result is a highly engaging selection of subtly branded visuals that visually introduce the questions and bring the reader into the topic.
