In this self directed series, animal rights supporter Pawel Zawislak explored a new illustration style to portray a range of prominent animal rights activists.
Pawel’s aim was to capture the essence of each subject’s unique personality, while exploring a new style and pushing his creative boundaries.
Not religious himself, he recognised the symbolic power in using a stained glass window style as a way to pay tribute to people who he admires for their selfless work in improving animal rights.
Accurately capturing the likeness of each subject was Pawel’s biggest challenging during the project, due to simplicity of the style.
“There was a very little margin of error to find those specific lines that define their incomparable face features,” says Pawel, who has nonetheless brought out each character’s defining elements with remarkable fidelity.
